Mom, wife, content creator, crafter, business owner, bookworm. I’m a woman who wears many hats, usually stacked on top of one another. I do my best, that’s all I really can do.
Hi, I’m Frances. I’m a busy stay-at-home mom of three who runs a blog, a small business, and loves doing crafts. When I’m not spending time with my wonderful kids and husband, I love reading books and writing about my experience with crafting, parenting, and mental health. I love to help others and I have a big heart; I choose to believe that most people are good. I try to make the world a better place with what little time we have on it, starting from within my own home.
I come from a family with a long history of mental illness. I could go on and on about the horrors that this life has put me through, but I choose to learn from my past instead of living in it. Although I unknowingly suffered through anxiety and depression as a teenager, it wasn’t until my mental breakdown in 2016 that I learned about the importance of mental health. I suffered greatly from postpartum depression after the birth of my second baby and felt every day like harming myself or ending my life. I felt like a complete zombie and like I had no purpose in life. I felt like everyone would be better off without me, especially my kids. A good friend of mine brought me out of that dark place, and I never plan on going back. After my breakdown, I discovered the love and grace of God. God saved my life and I try to live every day in service of Him.
What I Believe
I believe a lot of things, but the most important thing I believe in is bravery and kindness. I’m a believer in Christ, a believer in the universe, and a believer in the goodness of others. I believe that every single one of us has a purpose in this world. We were all put on this earth to do something or to be someone. I also believe that life is hard. Life throws us curve balls and sometimes they leave us winded. So I believe in being brave; brave enough to keep fighting, brave enough to hit the curveballs out of the park, and brave enough to ask for help when we need it. Above all else, I believe in kindness. Kindness will save our future. Kindness is free. Kindness changes lives and saves them too. Teaching kindness to the next generation may just change the world. All you ever need to be is brave and kind.
I’m not a professor nor a doctor. I’m just a mom who has gone through a lot of bumps in my motherhood journey and had to learn as I went. Motherhood is hard ya’ll! I am tired of these motherhood wars that never seem to end. I’m raising the white flag and I encourage you to raise yours too. Let’s empower each other instead of judge each other. My mission is to use my platform to spread awareness about the toll that motherhood has on our mental health and how to prioritize our mental well-being first, without the guilt.
